Day Two

My first night, I had to sleep with my Mom and Dad because my crib wasn't ready. My brother hopped in the bed too. Luckily the bed has enough space for all of us. Below is a picture my mom took at 6:00 a.m. We were all very tired.

Here is my exact two day old picture taken at 9:00 a.m. The onesie I'm sporting today is from Auntie Sam. It was originally given to my brother, Vaughn, but he grew too fast and could never wear. So far, it's my Mom's favorite onesie. Thirty minutes after this picture was taken, I soiled the shirt with spit.

Day One

0900 Here's a better, cleaner picture of me. I'm exactly One Day old. Not much has happened in the last twenty four hours. I've been in and out of the nursery, doing routine tests, eating, voiding (aka pooping and peeing), and bonding with Mom and Dad. The pediatrician is giving me the OK to go home today. YAY!

Home By Noon ~ I love my older brother, Vaughn Torin. He was so excited to see me that he grabbed a pillow for me and tried to feed me a bottle. I don't drink from bottles yet, but he doesn't know that.

Our neighbor Ken came over with gifts: Lots of diapers and baby wipes! Very much needed! He also made us a CASSEROLE! Who does that nowadays?!? How AWESOME is that?! Thank you Uncle Ken!

Day Zero

I arrived into the world exactly at 9:00 a.m. on June 25, 2009.

0200: My Brother woke up and told my mother that I was about to come out. He held her hand for a few minutes then he went back to sleep. Seconds later, she felt her first real contraction. She stayed in bed timing five more contractions within thirty minutes. "I'm not ready for this," she thought as she walked into the hallway and reached for her empty suitcase on the top shelf of the linen closet. "He has no take-home outfit. The crib isn't ready. The car seat isn't assembled. We don't even have I better wake Frank."

My dad remained calm for my mother's sake. He called our neighbor Ken to watch Vaughn and made all the other arrangements for the day.

We arrived at the hospital at 5:30 a.m. and mom was already 6 cm dilated. The epidural went in at 7:30 a.m. but caused my mom's blood pressure to drop really low. They had to stop it immediately, and all relief wore off in an hour. Thirty minutes later, I wedged my way through and landed in the hands of the doctor.

I am six pounds, nine ounces and nineteen inches long. I have black hair and blue eyes (hopefully they'll remain blue). Look out world!
